Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness for Game cube
Players return to the Pokemon world of Orre in Nintendo’s POKEMON XD: GALE OF DARKNESS for the Game Cube. Taking place five years after POKEMON: Coliseum, Gale of Darkness puts players in the role of a young trainer named Michael as he travels the world with his faithful Eevee and battles the forces of the mysterious Cipher organization and the Shadow Pokemon. Cipher plans to take over the world of Orre by creating Shadow Pokemon, evil versions of regular Pokemon. Its strongest is the incredible Shadow Lugia, which can easily pick up cargo ships and other large objects. To combat Cipher, Michael is equipped with a Snag Machine to capture the Shadow Pokemon. Once he’s captured them, he can take them to the Purify Chamber and turn them into regular Pokemon to use against Cipher. POKEMON fans will also be familiar with Michael’s companion Pokemon, Eevee. Eevee is different from other Pokemon in that players get to decide what he evolves to. By using one of five special stones, Eevee can become either Vaporeon, Jolteon, Flareon, Espeon, or Umbreon. Each has its own unique abilities, strengths, and weaknesses. Finally, Gale of Darkness includes a verses mode for up to four players. Here, Pokemon trainers can pit their Pokemon against each other and import Pokemon from the GBA games to battle
as well. With an incredibly deep story, hundreds of Pokemon, and a fun verses mode, POKEMON XD: GALE OF DARKNESS is sure to be another Pokemon hit.
