The popular Nickelodeon cartoon show FAIRLY ODDPARENTS has come to the Game Cube thanks to THQ, Inc. Players take on the role of Timmy Turner, who, with the assistance of his magical Fairly Oddparents, must discover why Dimmsdale has lost all TV reception and, along the way, stop the Shadow from taking over the world. Unfortunately for Timmy, this action adventure game isn’t as easy as one would expect Cosmo and Wanda, the magical Fairly Oddparents, would make it. They’ve lost most of their magical powers, leaving Timmy with no other option than to gather Wish Stars to help Cosmo and Wanda regain their powers. Once Timmy collects enough stars, he can wish for such amusing inventions as suit spray, the pogo stick of justice, and the popular super irritating klaxon. Each of the 18 different wish items has unique abilities, and each will be needed to clear the game and defeat the Shadow. Timmy has seven levels to jump and climb through, smashing enemies as he goes. Each level has four stages, and each requires specific items to collect everything in it, including unlockable cartoon video clips and a making-of video. Levels are based on episodes of the TV series, some taking place in the fairy world or others inside a pinball machine. While players who have never seen the FAIRLY ODDPARENTS might not understand everything, fans of the cartoon show will feel like their wish to visit Timmy has been granted with FAIRLY ODDPARENTS: Shadow Showdown.
